  8.  AB    OBJECTIVE: To create awareness in the city of Nairobi aiming at sexual
  9.        behaviour change. METHOD: AIDS campaign involved 10 councillors, 5 NGOs
  10.        and 2 PWAs from ASOs. Speeches, puppetry shows, drama and songs on
  11.        HIV/AIDS were conducted. Literature and condoms distributed. The
  12.        exercise was carried out twice a month for four months. RESULT: 2nd, 3rd
  13.        and 4th months saw an increased turnover of people. Increased knowledge
  14.        in questions asked. Condom demand in public social places incresed.
  15.        Increased demand for literature and more invitations to the campaigners.
  16.        CONCLUSION: Politicians are an added advantage to pulling the masses.
  17.        Political will is therefore essential in HIV/AIDS awareness programmes.
  18.        The use of puppetry and drama as well as personal experience of PWAs
  19.        brought the message clear.
